I've got a 2001 ram 4x4 2500 diesel with 4 speed auto (47re). At 40mph in forth gear the truck was shifting in and out of lockup alot. I took the truck in and they performed a diagnostic, no codes but truck was still shifting in and out of lockup at a constant 40mph. They performed a pcm update flash, cleaned the battery cables and unhooked my aftermarket stereo system. It worked fine after that. I had them change the filter and perform a flush on the trans also. They say I need a RFE filter for the stereo system. I have 2 amps in the truck which they say are interfering with the trans. Anyone had the same problem? I've looked for a RFE filter, Is that the same as a noise filter? Any info would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about the stereo but what i can tell you is that your problem is common. Search here on tdr and you'll find info for what to do. It involves putting a little gizmo on the tps sensor to eliminate "noise" on the sensor wire. Your other option would be to put a lockup switch in. Here again, just dig a little further into this site and you'll come across it. Good luck!
