Okay guys, I'm 24 valve illiterate, I'm posting on behalf of a friend of mine who has a 2001 3500 4x4 automatic QC, it has a Banks Power Pack. A few weeks ago his truck began to act weird, going about 35 mph the trans would start to up shift then down shift constantly, it does the same thing around 60 mph, after 60 everything is okay. He took it to the dealer and they have changed the TPS and something else I don't recall at the moment :( . Well the problem still exist and it's been a week so far since they told him they would have to get a solution from the mainland... ... ... ah how long does a phone call take? Anyway, does this sound familiar to anyone? If so any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds to me like you are having an issue going in and out of converter lock-up. Might be time for a new converter.....

Is it shifting or is the TC locking and unlocking? Disconnect both batteries for 30 minutes. Reconnect them and turn key to run without starting the engine. Slowly push the fuel pedal to the floor and release (some will say to do this three times). Turn the key back off. Start the engine and road test. This is the APPS calibration. SNOKING

Pedal

Position

Sensor.

Do a search on electrical noise or filters, ans see if this applies to your problem.

Let us know.

Mine just started to do the same exact thing, Im getting the tps replaced wedsday and also get the transmission fluid changed i hope its one of these things.

911Ram. Check on a noise filter, it's only $40 and will probably fix your problem. The APPS is expensive - I speak from experience - it didn't fix mine. Call DTT toll free 1 866 504 4002

An easy way to check to see if it is a noise problem is to clean the battery terminals and the ground connections near the passenger side battery. If the problem goes away, it is noise and will come back eventually.
