Ok guys heres the rest of this story. I did check the voltage on the TPS, it rang in at . 334 volts. I then tried adjusting accordingly, after rotating the aluminuk bracket as far counterclockwise as I could and taking out the metal dowels in the TPS I could only get . 874 at one time I got . 922 but thats the highest I could get it to go. I drove it and it seemed better didnt kick in and out as much and stopped downshifting its back to just the converter in and out of LU. If that didnt fix the problem with decent voltage does this mean my TPS is bad, its obviously the problem or at least par tof the prob, any thoughts?

Thx guys:rolleyes:

TPS

Before you ditch the TPS try taking it apart and cleaning it. If it gets screwed up what's it matter you need a new one anyways. Mine was always causing me problems with OD and screwy cruise control until I disassembled it. Just take a small drill bit or dremel tool and cut the raised section of the back cover off. Don't let the bit go more than about 1/16th - 1/8 inch deep and you'll be allright. After you get the cover off, take it all apart and clean the wiper arms and side contacts real good then make sure you lube the copper bushing with some nice thick grease(this is what keeps the water and trash out of the TPS). It's a pretty simple task. I used 3M 5200 to reseal the cover to the TPS body then put it back in the truck bolted it up and let the sealant cure in place. Some people just spray contact cleaner in the back of the housing but this just gets rid of the grease seal and lets more trash in. I guess if you did it religiously it's not a prolem but I like to do things only once.

Thx I'll try that as a last resort as you said I think I'll be needing one anyway. I have read many many many posts on the TPS thing and thats all I have yet to try so I'll give it a shot and hope. I am scared if the tps replacement doesnt fix the prob what is then the problem gonna be I really cant afford the dealer to waste endless hours trying to find the prob

I would suggest buying a new TPS, cleaning up the old one as suggested above, and keeping it as a spare. This way you can clean it whenever you get around to it, and take all the time you need instead of havinging to do a hurry up job. Mine needs a sensor swap about every 2 years regardless of mileage, so I doubt this is the last time you will be doing this.

Shen I know your big on the pulling wires thing =), but I pulled them about 2 full feet out and place them in there own taped loom.
