ref. the factory trans super-cooler mounted under bed, how were the lines run, where were connections made, and are they still available. does anyone have a schematic copy. I have a new fan/cooler I want to install but don't want to cut into my stock lines, and thought maybe a set of factory lines would work.

thanks

Strange - mine runs from the trans, to the block cooler, to the front radiator, to the bed super cooler, and back in - Factory installed that way. Hmmm, works fine though, and temp never went over 210 on a death hill last weekend pulling 7000 lbs at 45 mph in 3rd, no o/d. I also have a TCI torque converter, and I know that helped a lot - the stocker would have probably made a lot more heat. I'd actually like to mount a second temp sensor on the inlet side just for kicks.

Also - I never heard the super cooler running until this weekend - the temps never got that hot before! Thing sounds like a really big fan inside a fan shroud.

SamsRams, how's to hop back to the other thread where you posted your sensor pictures.

That way, we won't get two discussions going on the same subject.

I have a comment there as well for you.

trans super cooler

thanks for the quick reply and excellent pictures. my cooler is a split Flexlite unit with fan that I got to put on my cherokee but I think this will be a better use.

I would say that running hard lines fastened to the trans as not to allow vibration to weaken them to nearest the cooler as possible without letting the ends extend more than 6-8 inches away from the trans could be bent easily from line stock but make sure that you have hose from there to the cooler the trans moves & the body dosent so a solid line would weaken & brake

also there is good trans line & cheasy kinds I have some great fairly rigid cloth covered high pressure line I use its more like hydraulic line than automotive trans line I like that stuff

if you bend the hard lines & have a flare tool put a flare at the end the hose goes onto to help it not slip off or measure carefuly & buy the right size they may even have brass flare to 3/8 hose barb to put on the end so the flare nut isent rattling around on the line

if Im not sure about the out & in on the trans lined Ill let it idle in drive (wheels chocked & Ebrake on) feel the lines the first one to get warm is the out line

thats what I got for now

take care
