Getting New ATS transmission & 4" Exhaust

I have a 2000, 4WD 3500 auto. I want to get rid of my auto and replace it with a 6 speed. This would probably be cheaper than dumping 3 or 4 K into upgrades to the trans. before I can bomb. I am counting on finding a wreck at a junk yard and pulling the trans. I have done this before in cars when I was a kid (mid 70's), and figure all I need is a clutch/break pedal assy. and cut a hole for the shifter. The thing that I am not sure of is the electronics. What am I getting myself into?

Has anybody done this before?

Thanks in advance

Contact Jim Leonard

You might want to contact Jim Leonard. He is listed in the "Links". He replaced an auto with a 6-speed for a friend last Summer. I think there is more to it than you indicated.

Good Luck,

I called today and Jim is going to get back to me. What a deal. I did not think that there was any thing like that out there. What about a 6 speed with the 1. 375 input shaft instead of a 5 speed for a 95 4x4? thanks JimK
