I got a triple pod and trans temp gauge for christmas. And was wonder where the most accurate location on trans to install it to get me by till I get one of those inline deals. So I can have the temp in line for most accurate reading. Thanks for any help

What year truck? If it is a '94 or '95 with the 47RH trans you can put the sensor in the line pressure test port.

It is a 97' If I remember right there is two little plug type things

one on the left and one right there about a 10mm size plugs would one of those places work till I got a return line ? thank for any additional help.

I don't think it will work with a 47RE. You might want to ask some of the people who know that transmission.

Unless the tip on the sender is VERY short (almost flat), it won't work. I tried first with mine before getting the line. Have to get the '95 cooler line. Got mine from dealer, they had it on hand. Was around $100. Dealer P/N is 5011244AA.

If you go this route, you will need to take out a rubber check ball and spring, it isn't needed on your truck. There is another check ball elsewhere. The one to remove is in the male end of the short rubber hose that comes with the steel line.
