Has anyone used one of these?

Do they work worth a darn and are your readings accurate? Trying to weigh all the options. This would be the least invasive and less prone to scorn by my dealers around here who don't seem to keen on upgrades.

Yes, they do work. Are they accurate?depends on how precise you want to be. They tend to be more affected by ambiant temperature than one built into the line but they do give very good comparitive readings to show how hard the transmission is working. I have a similar device made from brass instead of aluminum and I'm quite satisfied with it.

There is no way a dealer could claim it caused problems with the system and it is very easy to install.

The key thing for a device like this to work is that you cote the mating surface with a thermocouple compound like the stuff they put between
a heat sink and a Microprocessor to assist in wicking away the heat.
Then cover it so it does not get dirty.
