I was wondering if there is a place near the pan on the 48RE to put a temp sensor. I plan on putting a auto trans temp gauge in my truck. Thanks,Ken

I also want to Install a transmission temp gauge

I want to Install a temp gauge that gives a true reading so I know If the oil Is not getting to hot when I am pulling the trailer. I got no help on this so I am going to call Geno's to see If they can help me on this matter? :-{}

Call DTT or Mass diesel. Get the transmission cooler replacement line with the temperature port. This will give you the hottest fluid temp reading since the oiling leaving thru the line is from the converter discharge. It is easy to intall and gives you a better reading than the pan.

I didn't use the Mass Diesel piece and I wish now that I would have. I found a plug on the transmission, passenger side, back of trans above the pan that the sensor screwed right into. Problem was that the factory wiring was too short so I had to splice pieces into it. Not hard but irritating.

Yeah... you tapped into one of the pressure ports that we use to to read transmission pressure.

Sounds great but need phone number for DDT

If any of you can give me the phone number for DDT so I can order the line. Thanks

I called DDT and they had me call Mass Diesel

So I called them and they are sending me the line with the temp port. Cost 90. 00 Does that sound correct. This way I can keep a eye on the temp on the trans oil. I want to thank you fellows for your help. ;)

We have them in stock too if anyone is looking for an alternate. Ours is a genuine Mopar cooler line that we retrofit with a swaglok type fitting. It does not obstruct theATF flow at all and there's no core charge. We're still awaiting some pictures so it's not up on the site yet. If you'd like to purchase one just give us a call. Price is reasonable too.

I am interested, I bought a new OEM line to modify and haven't got that done yet. PM me a price please and I will consider that route. Also maybe post a pic when you can.
