Where am I supposed to locate the sending unit for my trans temp gauge? I have the deep pan so there is a location for it, it came with an inline tap fitting that could go either before or after the cooler, and I suppose that transmisssion housing probably has a port where something stock is located??? Please let me know where to go with it and specifically the reasoning for that location. The pan has to be the simplest, but is it the best?

I suppose that I will get as many ideas as there are members!

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have a probe in my pan and one in the output line (96 line with the sender port). The temp in the pan hardly moves off the stop. Now the output line will show you very quickly when you are building heat! Most transmission guys like Bill at DTT say to monitor the output line. SNOKING

Definitely put it in the output line. I just installed my gauges about two months ago and ordered a replacement line from Scott at Mass Diesel. Works great and installation was simple. My . 02

DTT recommended putting an earlier model line on that has a factory fitting in it already. They strongly urged NOT to cut current line and use compression fitting. They gave the the DC part number for it: 5011244AA; local dealer wants $125. Hopefully it is a junk yard option.

Buy it from DTT and it includes the extension to reach the cooler. SNOKING
