First post here, help. Just bought a transmission temp. gague

and have some questions on where to install the sending

unit kit from Ted Jannetty. What part of the transmission line

is the best place to install the sending unit? Not too familiar

with the transmission.

Just did mine..........

I was amazed at the size of the block they sent me. Kind of limits the options on where it can go. I had my local transmission shop do mine. Had them change filter and fluid and up the pressure for me (Heavy Truck). That avoided the mess of cutting into the line for me.

The line coming out of the forward end of the transmission is the hot side. The only place we could find to fit it easily was on the passenger side. Have to track it around from the drivers side and where it goes vertical on the passenger side there was plenty of room.

I've been told you can get a cooler line for a 94??? and it has a sender port in it. That is another option. Someone else is sure to post on this.

Any questions just E-Mail me... ...

I put mine on that line going up to the tank cooler. Only I small amount of fluid came out. Used a small tubing cutter. Mark the line in two places and cut out about a 1 to 1 1/2 of line. (Size of the adapter. I retighten the connector a couple times after driving and tow. I also installed a second sender and switch in the rear right test port. That one will move to the pan the first time it is removed. Snow King

I installed my Jannetty kit the same as you Snow king, no problems at all and as you mentioned, only a little fluid will come out. I used the vertical line going to the tank cooler.

Buy a really small tubing cutter. Mine is a little Red one MADE in TAIWAN and is for 1/8 to 5/8 OD tubing. Has a small knob to screw it down. The whole thing is less than 2" long, so I was able to swing it around and around and around that tub to cut is off twice. I just went down stairs to look for the piece of tubing I cut out to measure, however I could not find it. It was around 1. 5" inches long. Just made sure that remaining tubing goes in the compression fittings far enough to hold correctly.

By next week you will be drilling the manifold for EGT's. Enjoy! Snow King

temp gauge

BBotte... ... ... another thought..... i bought an auxilliary filter unit from jc whitney and mounted it just in front of the fender well on the driver's side. it goes in the hot side and i cut the rubber hose going to the cooler (tow package) and put it in line. there is a port in the filter head for a temp sending unit. i bought the temp gauge with the package, but it is availabe without the gauge setup. the port is plugged in that application. you could buy the filter unit and put your sender from the Janetty unit in the port. btw--i'm seeing about 180 as top temp... ... ... assume that is in the expected range... ... .

btw2 the unit is made by permakool and has a spin on filter. they send you a list of interchangeable filters, both short and long.
