I am looking into upgrading my stock transmissions so I can run the banks big hoss and monster exhaust... (might be able to run it without upgrades). I am looking into just the tq converter and vb. The truck has been used as a daily driver. . I will probably go with dtt what is in thier upgrade kit, also do I need thier upgrade kit with 33000 miles?

Fill out your truck profile so we can see what you have.

A TC and VB should be adequate for what you are doing and a little more. You could probably get by without the trans upgrades if you were careful but upgrades would definitely give some piece of mind.

You can use either the single disk TC or a muti-disk TC depending on what you want for results.

Best option is call a couple of vendors and ask them what they recommend, what their system consists of, and the expected results. Different systems and ideas yield different results. Match them to your wants and needs.

my 01 has 110,000 miles on it and I want to upgrade to injectors and I know the trans wont hold. I would like to go with a DTT TC/VB upgrade is this a good decision or somehow get 5,000+ around for a full trans? Id like to use the comp box (tapped) up to around 3x5 with some 60-100 hp injectors (whichever will smoke) Im not looking to pull sleds or drag but Id like something to hold up when I get on it now and then or hauling a trailer & of course smoking a few people now and then

Ian

go with the edge Ez or comp I had a banks big hoss for about 1 day a good tail wind will make your truck pull better than the big hoss

Do the full meal deal with or without the Billets. About $4000 without & still an awesome trans! About 60,000 miles & goin strong! DTT Rocks! You won't be disappointed!

Good Luck.

You might want to tape that statement to your dashboard... . ;)

Anybody else (besides me) recall thinking like this in your past??

All in good fun - Bill

anyways R-N-R... ... I know I know Im guilty of pulling sled already but thats just for bragging rights... yet strangly addicting :-laf

When someone asks why I put all the toys on the truck I just blame TDR & its members! I was tricked!!!!

mom- "Ian thats too nice of a truck, and youre goign to break something"

me- "but mom all the TDR guys are doing it... "

You will find people fiercely loyal to the brand of transmission they chose for their upgrade. All of the auto transmission vendors that you will hear about have a good customer following and I don't think you would go wrong with any of them. Call and talk to all of them and choose the one that will give you what you want instead of what they think you need.

I chose ATS because they had the best fit for me. Their transmission and torque converter have done everything they said it would. If I need a transmission in my next truck I would not hesitate to get another ATS. Remember you get what you pay for and cheaper is not always better. Below is a link to ATS check out their sight and give them a call.
