Hello everyone, I did a search on this with few results. I am trying to figure out which transfer case and axles I have. Looking at my code plate it says:

Trans: DDX = 4500HD

Transfer Case: DHH

Front Diff: DJF Dana 60

Rear Diff: DRL Dana 80

I have looked at all these, the tag on the transfer case say's 241 but not HD or LD. And the tags on the diff's don't match anything in the service manual.

Since these all take different amounts of fluids I would really like to be prepared

Thanks in advance

I assume your talking about the tag under the hood, My tag says:

"DHG transfer case 241-heav" for a heavy duty T-case. The H-D Transfer case has a 6 bolt PTO cover on the passenger side the light duty does not. I have read that the auto trans 2500s have Dana 70 rears, all the manual trans trucks and all 3500s have Dana 80 rears and all Cummins 4x4s have Dana 60 fronts.

Jared

edit: I just looked at the service manual and now understand your confusion, the axle section is clear as mud. Your front axle should be a "248FBI", the ID is on page 3-16 I have no clue what DC calls a Dana 80 rear but a quick search for axle oil capacities will tell you what a Dana 80 holds
