Archived transfer case dilema

I recently bought a 93 Ram 350 dually that I intend to take to Alaska with a 30' Airstream in tow. I just found out someone replaced the original heavy duty 241 transfer case with a light duty 205. Am I asking for trouble ever using that setup in FWD with all that weight in possible nasty conditions? Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Flint

To anyone reading my above post... I just solved my "dilema". I found out my local Dodge dealership didn't know what they were talking about. Ends up the 205 is the heavy duty case and the 241 is the light duty one. That made my day.

The 205 is a great t/case. Iron housing and gear driven, no chain to break.

Amen. The 205 is highly sought after by four wheelers for it's strength. You'll be fine.
