Is it me or on a 2001 2500 4x4 do you have to remove the skid plate to drain the transfer case? Or at least do it with as little mess as possible?

Just an obervation while under my truck cussing my superplug oil drain and swearing about messin' up a SS braided line for my Dual By pass. All in all it was a terrible day!

Sorry for venting.

I just used a long piece of aluminum sheet that was laying around. Put a slight bend in it and layed it in there... just enough slope so the the fluid would drain to the can I was using. But yes it could be very messy...

Just go ahead and drop the skid plate I think its a total of 8 bolts and then its alot easier I just did mine last night not bad at all the bolts on the skid are 15mm size socket!
