Just discovered trany fluid all over the bottom of my transfer case. I'm sure it looks worse than it is. The fluid level is fine. It seems to be coming from the front output shaft seal. Does anyone have a 'How to' and parts list on replacing this seal?

Had the front seal on my transfer case replaced twice under warrenty. First time did not fix the leak. Second time the mechanic said he used different sealer material around the factory rubber seal and this seems to have stopped most of the leaking. Still stays wet but the level has been fine for thousands of miles since repair.

Great care must be used in replacing the rubber seal and a good sealer must be applied properly. The mechanic should take his time and understand what is going on with this seal. Lots of luck...

This is a chronic and common problem seen on these trucks. BTW I use AMSOIL ATF in my transfer case.

Have had mine to the dealer several times, and even tried myself several times, including the silicone trick. Ended up replacing the output yoke, and the problem was gone. Yoke was porous I guess. Took some fighting with DC,but they finally covered it under warranty.
