They are NOT interchangable. The mounting surface that mates to the trans is different and (I think) the shaft ends are different.



Also, one could be a 241 and the other a 241 HD. I'm not sure if this affects the '96's though.

transfer case

The mounting surfase is the same. The differences are the out put shaft on the auto has fewer splines that the standard The NV241HDH has a 29 spline input. The spline needed for this conversion is available in Utah, at ventureparts.com. PN4856629 and you will have to replace the bearing too, PN4746127. With these two parts you have converted the

NV241LDL to a NV241HDH. Everything else is compatable. You may have to do some driveshaft work depending on what transmission you are converting to.
