Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transfer case temp

Does anyone know what the temp should roughly be after an average empty 25 mile trip? Case warm to the touch?



241HD in a 2000 quad cab, no big power mods

Mine is warm to touch, maybe a bit cooler than the trans, I'll make a short run sometime today and shoot them with a temp gun and report the results.

T-case 88*

Dang heat guns are addictive

Trans 92*

rear diff 107*

engine oil pan 177*

Shocks 71 average :-laf

I'll Post again if I make a Highway run... .

Allright here's what I got... After 14 miles leaving a 52* garage on a 34*day...



T-Case 96*at PTO door 74* at drainplug

Trans 123* at pan

Rear Diff 90* at drainplug

Engine oil pan 160*

Rancho's average 60*

I one up'd you...

Fuel tank 61* I must return alot of hot fuel to warm 1/2 tank of fuel 9* in 14 miles and about 20 minutes time!



This is very interesting, thanks again for the reply. Anybody else? It'd be fun to compare with some bombed trucks.
