does anybody have any experience with loose transfer case chains? Mine has quite a bit of play. while changng the trans. filter and checking the u-joints earlier I could hear the chain slapping the inside of the case when twisting the driveshaft back and forth. there is also quite a bit of play when rapidly letting off the throttle or disengaging the cruise. Other than this there is no problem with the transmission or transfer case. shifts well, no slips. I guess I shoud say that this is a '95 auto stock transmission with about 190,000 miles. What are the chances I can tighten the transfer case chain without a rebuild? I ahve been babying the stock transmission till I can upgrade to a DTT or ATS system. If I have to replace or rebuild the transfer case as well, it will have to wait a little longer.

I just got my transfer case rebuilt at 180000 I had the guys at D&R Driveline do it the cost was 185 Lbr and 70 for a new chain. the total bill was around 3 bills
