I was replacing the rear u-joint and decided to replace the seal on the transfer case while I was there. I pulled the yoke out and it has a little bit of a groove in it. Will I be ok just replacing the seal or should I get a new yoke. If I need to get a new yoke where is the best place to buy one. The truck is a 1992 1-ton 5-speed 4x4. Thanks Scott

Were the u joint caps spinning in the yoke? If the caps are still tight in the yoke when the straps are tightened down, then you can probably find a speedy sleeve to slip on the yoke, then the seal has a smooth place to run.

Or you could probably drive the seal in further then originally and get to a new wear area.

If the caps show signs of spinning in the yoke, then the yoke is shot anyways and should be replaced.

A good drive train, axle rebuilder, Dana Spicer dealer, etc, should be able to get a yoke for you.
