Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) transfer case

when i drain the transfer case on my 96, is it 3 quarts of fluid to refill it? the fill and drain look to be a torx bit does anyone know what size?

Ignore the torx hole in the middle... just use a 30 mm socket around the plug's circumference... works great.



As best I can remember, 3 quarts is about right. The factory spec is "to the bottom of the fill hole"... i. e. , when it starts slobbering out, stop filling.



Torque the drain and fill plugs to 30-40 ft-lb.
