How much power can the transfer case handle on a 94 ram? If you are going to bomb your truck will you need to upgrade your transfer case- of course not all of the power wil begoing through it, and you won't be using it all the time, but a little input would be nice.

I've got over 500 hp going through mine... ... probably closer to 600 now and it's just fine. Be nice to it and it'll be nice to you.

My story is like Chris' on the t-case. I have the 241HD with the PTO cover on the right side (supposedly all 94s had it, but it went to being and option in 1995 on the 2500s, still standard on 3500s). After around 100K miles and 500+ hp, mine is still fine, no observable metal in the Dexron which I change every 15K.

Joe,

I had always thought I had the HD transfer case on my truck. Looked one day, its the standard duty. No PTO take off. I thought the HD tranfer case was standard equipment on a Cummins equiped truck. Nope, it was a option.

From Fritz`s web page:

NV241 input torque rating = 1028 ft LB
NV241HD input torque rating = 1400 ft LB
