Hey all,

I am considering buying a Transfer Flow 50 Gallon diamond plate Aux Tank I would like to go with a bigger tank but this seems to be the only one that will fit under my Tonneau cover.

My question is the tank it self weighs close to 100 LBS.

and by the time it is full How much extra weight would i be looking at?( not to good with conversions)

Would this extra weight have much effect on my Fuel Mileage?

It would deffiently be nice to drive farther without having to stop for fuel.

Thanks in advance

Fuel weighs roughly 6 lbs per US gallon. I don't think you would even notice 300 lbs.

I am also interested in the Transfer Flow aux tank. I feel there is only one flaw in the design, and that is the tank sides curve inward where they could be straight. This wastes a lot of potential fuel tank volume.

Please post your results on the quality, and install.

BLACKRAM,

Thanks for the info i would of never guessed fuel weighed that much.

I will be shure to let you all know how i proceed.

Low sulpher diesel fuel with temperature of 40 dergrees gravity of 34 should weight 7. 2lbs. I;ve hauled a few 10,000 gal loads of it in the last 21 yrs with 10 more yrs to go untill full time galivanting around the country in the ctd & 32ft 5ver in tow. :) :)

I have the TF OEM direct replacement 54 gallon tank, and had it installed at their facility in Chico, CA. It is absolutely awesome!! Their installation quality is top notch as well. I have not personally seen any of their other tanks, but I am certain all their products are identically superior in quality and workmanship.

If one of their products meets your needs, I gaurantee you will be all :D:D:DOo. Oo. Oo.

I got a used 57 gal transfer flow for $260. 00. I feel like I should be wearing handcuffs. :D

I have it rigged up so that it has an independent fuel gause that reads full time.

I want to know what's in there even when I'm not running on that tank. This tank was made prior to the Trax EFS electronic thingamajigee.
