Getting ready to install my 275's and a rebuilt VP, does anyone know the correct torque spec for the transfer tubes and injector plates? I didn't get new copper washers, is that a bad thing?

How about the lines to the pump, are they just "tight" or is that a critical point too?

You might get by with the old copper gaskets if they are not squished, but new ones are recommended. The injector hold down bolts are torqued to 89 inch pounds. The fuel line fittings to 28 foot pounds. It's best to sneak up on the torque in several steps, alternating between the two. A crows foot 19mm wrench is helpful for the fuel line fittings. #6 is a bear to get to. I used a stubby as I couldn't get my torque wrench in there. I just guesstimated the torque on that one. Good luck & enjoy your new power.

Get new washers, your Bosch shop carries them; they are about . 060" thick. Don't overtorque the lines or you can damage the connector tubes. 89 may be a bit too tight for the injector bolts; I tighten them until they "feel right" which is in the 75+ inch lb. range.

I got the 89 inch pounds right out of the service manual, but I doubt it's that critical. Joe is right that you should get new washers. The service manual says "A new shim with the correct thickness must always be re-installed after removing injector. "

Looks like the new injectors had them installed already, I wasn't sure what I was looking at

Didn't have a in/lb torque wrench laying around, so I used the calibrated elbow method.

Thanks guys.

I don't have an inch pound torque wrench either but 89/12=7. 4 ft/lb Not to worry, go have some fun with your truck. :D
