I got the Transferflow tank today. Yes this is a bit out there, it is a big tank for a Megacab, but I like fuel! What can I say?
I started out contemplating the 50 gallon and the 75 gallon tanks. The 50 gallon was the obvious choice as it didnt cover any of the factory pucks for the 5th wheel and was designed to completely fit under a tonneau cover. I have a hard cover that I like so would like to keep it.

Well, I am not one for the obvious choice. I took some measurements and the 75 gallon was 1/4 inch lower than my bed rails however the filler neck stuck up another 3 3/4 inches. The two forward pucks of the factory hitch would be covered but luckily, I already had plans to not need those pucks anyway. I am replacing the air ride 5th wheel hitch with a goosebox hitch.

As far as my bed cover, I got to thinking...if I get the 50 gallon, it fits under the cover but the last section of the cover does not raise up. This would make it a pita to fill. I whipped out the tape measure, my bed cover is about 1 1/2 inches thick. Visions of a hole saw started forming in my head. With my rough math, I'm thinking I can cut a hole just big enough for the filler neck, the neck should be just long enough to poke through and be able to completely secure the fuel cap. A little sealant to keep the water from getting in and it should be gtg. Hmmm more fuel, easier fueling (and the 75 was $100 cheaper than the 50 o_O) win win.

So anyway, only had about an hour and decided to unbox it and test fit. Using my rough math and making things work the way I want them too usually doesnt turn out as easy as it looks on paper (anyone else been there?). It actually is looking promising. Here are a few pictures of how it will sit in the bed (minus my straps for maneuvering :D)

I will take more pics with the bed cover on (if it works out) when I get it done. Yes I will have a cap that looks like its sitting on my bed cover, I can deal with that. They sent a black one which will blend right with the cover so not noticeable to most, however I have a nice green aluminum cap that I may put on there. Wonder how many people will tell me I forgot to put my gas cap on? :)

Well, I got the tank and hard cover installed. Rarely do things work out the way you picture them but this turned out just like I had planned (for better or worse). The cover is hard with 3 sections. The last 2 sections fold up onto the first section. With the two sections folded up on the first section the tank is still completely covered but allows for the gooseneck to be hooked up with no clearance issues.

The two sections have two rubber blocks installed from the factory that keep them from laying flat on the first section. This worked out perfect for given enough height to not come in contact with the fuel cap. I attached two pictures of the black cap installed, two with the green cap and one from underneath with the tailgate open. I havent decided which cap im going to use yet.

I still have to clean it off, the marks are just from me not cleaning it up after working on it. Some plastic color restore should blacken it up again pretty nice.

Nice install. I'm looking at installing a 100 gallon tank. Problem is trying to figure out how to fill it with a camper shell on.

If your looking for a permanent install transfer flow has custom kits for service bodies. It would require cutting a hole in your shell but a clean install is very doable.
Of course it would require a modification of the fill neck of the tank right off the bat.

Forgot to mention, there is a manual override button you can press to feed fuel whenever you want. I wanted to mount it in the empty spot below the neutral button on the 4x4 rotary panel. After pulling the console off and removing the rotary panel, there was an electrical plug right close to where I wanted to drill. I pulled the back off and of course, the circuit board ran from top to bottom.

I decided to mount it in the cubby of the center console. Its out of the way and protected relatively well from inadvertent pushing (thought it wouldnt matter, either it only comes on for a short while or it doesnt turn on if the main tank is almost full).

I have a camper shell and in order to fill the aux tank, I ordered a "Windoor" from Leer. It's all dark glass, two locking latches. looks great. open it up and the filler neck is right there. easy to get to, hard for fuel thieves to steal fuel. Windoor was about $400 or thereabouts.

I ordered a boat fuel filler bung, cut hole in shell up high...it fits flush with shell, cap screws inside it, ran a 2" hose to aux. Fuel neck, tightened with hose clamp, just make sure u have a vent tube, used it for years filling my aux. 40 gal. tank
