Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) transmission and transfer case? which one would you get?

I located a 98 trans and transfer that came out of a truck that was on fire in the front. Milage unknown. I also located a 97 trans and transfer that was hit hard in the front right they have 125,000 on them. The price and drive to get them is about the same. In your opinion what would you do?

Be careful about aluminum even if it doesn't look damaged it may be warped. I used a bellhousing out of a truck that had burnt and it was warped. In 5k miles it took out the pilot bearing, input bearing reatainer, clutch fork, and release bearing.

So you are saying go with the one that was hit. I do know that heat does alot with changing things that is why I was asking.

Can you get a look at the burnt one to see how hot it got ?
If they were not cooked too bad I would think that the odds would be better with anything hasn't been hit .
 
I would want pictures of the burnt truck if possible or to know where the fire was engine compartment, cab, or where ever. I would lean more towards the truck that was hit as long as there is no visual damage to the bellhousing tailhousing mounting bosses, or the transfer case. I would also want to see pictures of it. Its all a judgement call. If the truck on fire stayed more in the enine compartment I'd go that route and get a different bellhousing. You take chances anyway you go.
