I found my two transmission cooling lines rubbing together... . one has a hole rubbed in it... Has anyone ever gone and had a tubing shop make one instead of paying to much at Dodge for a new line... . And would it help if i had them make the line out of larger material making the inner diameter larger thus providing more cooling... . or would that not affect the cooling haveing a larger line? Thanks in advance... ... ... .

A better replacement that many folks have used is hydraulic hose. 3/8" hose is easy to route were you want, is highly resistant to abrasion and the temps and pressures in an AT are nothing for it. A tractor dealer or hydraulic shop will set you up with what ever types of ends you need for a fraction of the cost of tubing. Don't know that larger tubing will help much with cooling but you definitely don't want to go smaller.

Just be very careful that the lines you use are of equal or greater size than OEM. Bear in mind that larger I. D. lines will promote less pressure in the cooling loop... . but will also increase cooling capacity (more fluid = greater ability to absorb/shed excess heat). It's a double edged sword... ...

AT's like being at a certain temperature... . too cold is almost as bad as too hot.

I almost installed a B&M SuperCooler AT cooler... until I realized that my Cummins/Dodge uses WAY bigger lines than most other OEM trucks/cars which this cooler was intended for. (I even bought the HUGE one... made for 20k GVW or some crazy thing... )
