Question about transmission temp gauge wiring

When I left my driveway this morning my truck kinda stumbled. Like a missed shift. When I got to the the exit of my development, and entered the main road I realized that the transmission wasn't shifting into overdrive. This leaves the RPMs screaming high. Also, the 1-2 shift, 2-3 shift, and downshifts are all harsher than before. I checked the fluid, and it looks and smells normal, and is at the correct level. There are no codes, and the trans temp light has not come on. The truck has 7500 miles, and has been fault-free up until now. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

defender 90 pics?

Hey there,

Would you by chance have any pictures of that Defender that you could post? I have a Jeep with a bunch of money sink parts but those D-90's have to be one of the coolest 4x4's made in the last 20 years or so. Have a great day:D

Codes

I don't remember seeing a code flash in the dash cluster but I think the dealer found one when they plugged in.

I had a plug replaced at the TPS.

After 2. 5 days of not looking at my truck my dealer has diagnosed the problem as a bad valve body. At this point they can't give me an ETA for the part. Has anyone else had a VB go bad?

Hammerhead,

Sorry for the delay. I know I have plenty of pics of the D90, but can't seem to lay my hands on them. Here's one that I managed to dig up. My truck is the white one. If you can tell the color, that is! LOL! I'll post more when I find them.

I see that you actually get some use out of the D90Oo. Oo. :D

Keep the pictures coming! I have a CJ-7 that I've had for about 10 years that never seens to get tired of me spending money on it. I'm trying to work out a deal with a guy to get his Jeep scrambler but my wife is threatening to kill me if I spend any more money on Jeep stuff.

Take it easy

I finally got my truck back a few days ago after being at the dealer for 2 weeks. After waiting 10 days for a new valve body (they shipped it ground from California-only the Daimler side knows about overnight) the install took half a day. The truck seems back to normal with the exception of the shifter linkage being a little screwy (they'll fix it this coming week). I'm glad to have my truck back after driving a Chevy 2500 as a loaner. I hope this was an isolated incident, but now I've got my doubts about going for the auto. If not for my wife's inability to master a manual trans I'd have the six speed.
