Alright I now have 50,000 miles on my truck and its long over due for a transmission service. My question is, will i be ok to just change the fluid in the pan and do i bother changing the filter while i'm at it. Or should i do a total service, all fluids and filter.
My second issue is that now that i'm going to do the service to the transmission i believe it is now time to install the drain plug-transmission temp sensor in the pan. Where abouts on the pan should i drill the hole for it. Drivers side front of the pan, passenger side front of the pan or somewhere on the rear of the pan. Any help would be appreciated and can i just tap into the pan or is it not thick enough to get enough threads to be safe.
