I am installing a MagHytec Transmission pan (double deep version) on my dad's 96 this weekend. I know it increases the transmission capacity by 4 qts. The 47RE takes 6. 5 qts according to Dodgeram.org. So we are at 10. 5 qts. I have a brand new case of 12 qts of amsoil ATF on the shelf. I think that will just be enough for the job. I don't think the truck has a Torque convertor drain and i dont want to run the transmission lines dry since it is not good for the pump. Should i be okay mixing the fluid in the lines with the new amsoil ATF? Anyone ever had problems doing that?
