rblomquist,

How is Amsoil ATF able to match the separate characterists of the all fluids you outlined above?

They do it by passing all the ASTM tests set forth by the API for these types of lubes.

I can not tell you what goes into the product itself, as that is propiortory.

Yes, in LasVagas, where the temps are usually hot, you will have better protection with this synthetic, as it will hold up much better in high temps than any petrolium ATF.

I would check with ATS for their recommendations.

I can tell you that DTT does not recommend the ATF+4. They suggest Mercon III, ATF+3 or Amsoil ATF.

I suspect ATS is the same. IMHO, I would use Dodges ATF+4 in stock Trannys. It is a unique product. In an after market transmission, with added HP, I would not use anything but a synthetic. Best way to protect your investment I know.

Hope this helps clear things up.

PS: Sorry Ron, Meant to address this to Rich

chipstein,

Glad you cleared up your statement about not to use lubeguard in our Rams. Looks like it's a good product to use. :)

Rowj,

I do not have an ATS or DTT modified transmission so asking either one of them would be mute, every transmission builder has an opinion on what should be used with their product.

My installer uses lubeguard additive and alot of transmission rebuilders swear by lubeguard, that is the reason I was questioning chipstien about not useing lubeguard in our rams. It is also a great product for stock transmissions which I beleave is what most are referring to.

Personally I see no reason to use the Lubeguard (Red Bottle) unless you are having a shudder you are trying to cure or something of that nature. From what I understand it is basically just additional friction modifiers. I would certainly not add it to ATF +4, there is already plenty of FM's in there. JMHO
