Hey guys:

I was towing about 6 ton through the hills of West Virginia yesterday and with the convertor locked up in OD, when she started to lug rather than dropping down into drive i could feel a slipping and kind of a whining sound then i would have to let off of it and lock it out of OD to go to drive. Was my convertor slipping or is the whole transmission about to go? On a positive note, with the Superchips programmer and the 100 horse injectors it never hit over 1200* on the pyro (pre-turbo) no matter how hard i was pushing it up the hills.

Thanks,

John

If it's a stock transmission, you were most likely slipping the overdrive unit. But, you should have seena rise in rpms to go along with this. Use OD on flat ground where you aren't using a ton of power.

Direct (3rd) is a better choice for towing heavier as the transmission has more mechanical advantage than in 4th.

BTW, if you are running a stock auto with your mods, I can promise you that transmission is toast. Mine was shot aget running an EZ ONLY for 2 months.

Good luck.
