I have a governor pressure problem in my transmission that doesn't let 2nd gear engage. Either I start in 1st and have to rev to about 2500 RPM to shift to 3rd or (if I'm lucky) I start in 3rd and have little power until about 15-20 mph. I checked the codes (not with me now) and my repair manual says it's a problem with the governor solenoid or the pressure transducer for the governor. Fortunately, my wife is the receptionist at the local Dodge dealer and I can get a discount on parts. Still, it's a bit much for the parts and I don't want to replace a working part if I don't have to. Have any of you bretheren out there had this same problem and seen that there is one part other that another that causes the problem? What makes me ask is that there is a replacement P/N for the transducer. The numbers are as follows:

56028196AA Transducer

56028196AD Replacement part number for above

4617210 Solenoid

Also, what are your thoughts about using OEM parts for the filter and gasket? They want about $18 for the two of them and I am pretty sure that I paid less when I did a fluid/filter change about two years ago.

I am changing jobs and will be doing this work next week between them. Thanks in advance.

It looks like the truck has gone into 'limp home 'mode. What are the codes?

Usually whit has these problems in is wise to just change both , solenoid and transducer while the pan is down.

If I was to guess which one, and I don't like guessing, I'd pick the transducer. It is still a 50/50 guess.

BTW, DON'T drive it like this, it will ruin the trans.
