Transmission jerk?

2006 2500 182,000 miles. When slowing down, there's what I call a "jerk" somewhere. Checked everything I can think of in the drivetrain. Now thinking it's a transmission or transfer case issue causing me to spend $2K to get it fixed. Seems like there is slop in the driveline. Any ideas?

Is it possible that the torque converter is having a hard time unlocking?
