Truck has developed a leak at one of the transmission line connections. Not major but it is consistant. Seems to only leak under pressure,(i. e. when running- even at idle). Have no idea what line it is. App. 1/2" dia. , looks like a flair nut fitting with a gray plastic thing I can only guess is some kind of compression washer. Any transmission leak is serious to me, but say on a 1 to 10 scale how much trouble am I in? What needs to be done?

Thanks guys!!

This is very common with the el cheapo plastic flare connectors. Some guys have fabricated their own fix with some hydralic lines they have made up. The other alternative is to purchase the updated lines from Dodge. If you go this route call Blair at Parker Motors, he has helped many TDR members solve their transmission line issues with some great prices. 1-877-511-5599

To replace all the lines with the upgrades OEM lines including all the necessary fittings, you are probably talking in the neighborhood of $400. I replaced just the hot line on my 96, mainly for the temp gauge, but if a line is going to leak/rupture at the cheesy plastic fittings, it is most likely to be the hot line. I don't remember the exact price, but it was under $100.

The cheesy plastic fitted lines were recalled on gassers, but not on diesels. Go figure.
