Went to change transmission fluid and noticed that there was a drop of fluid at the rear where dirveshaft connects. Seal must be starting to let go. Anybody know how to replace this or do I need to have a transmission shop look at it? Unfortunately I have a small drive line shudder on hard acceleration due to p/o who was involved in severe accident, I think something is tweaked and that is what caused the failure. Any way noticed it after I had already drained fluid so the hour, fluid and filter spent I guess will be a loss.

Not sure on the automatics but I have changed a couple of tail shaft seals on manual transmissions (Fords only) . If it's similar then it should be fairly easy and you will loose very little fluid.

I would be more concerned with the shudder since that might be what is causing the seal to fail. It could be as simple as a driveline that is out of balance or bent.

Thanks sounds great checked price under 15 bucks. Still don't see how it can be done, the yoke is in the way and unless it is some how two pieces? Anybody ever do one??
