Thinking of adding an ez to my edge 50 hp injectors. I know some people say that this is a good set up for towing. Any body running something similar please let me know your experiences egt's how it tows and any other info.

My question is my transmission am I pushing it's limits . I have a 02 with a six speed see sig . I know that I will need to upgrade my clutch soon.

Thanks

I think your EGT's will be OK unless you lug it below 1500 too much. I'd be more worried about your clutch, I could slip my stock clutch with only my Banks Big Hoss. My SBC CON OFE won't slip with my current setup.

Why not get a SMARTY??? They are incredable! I think it's my best mod so far :D !

I have an 02 with a six speed as well and I got 75 hp injectors and the comp untapped which is about the same as an ez. I havent slipped the cluth yet but at 7200 feet my egts are a concern, and when I say a concern thats when I get on it from 0 to 90. I havent towed with this set up but I also havent drove at sea level either. The worst thing would be you just having to have to unhook your ez if egts get out of controll. Just watch your gauges and go from there.

I towed with 90hp & edge comp tapped & never slipped my stock clutch on ez mode. If I turned the box on anything above level 2, It slipped like crazy. My truck had the 12" clutch at that time, but doesn't a 6 speed have a 13" clutch? I'd say It should be Ok, but I would agree... ... . get the smarty for towing.

What makes the smarty better to tow with ? The reason I ask is that I realy did not want to spend that kind of money. I was thinking about gettin a used ez. I know that

the smarty has a lot more features. Where is the diffrence in towing, lower egts more power in lower rpms????

The transmission isn't a problem. The stock clutch, on the other hand... .

I towed our 16K GVWR 5th wheel and its 13. 5K GVWR predecessor with the EZ alone and never had a problem. The same day the DD2 injectors went in, however, my wife slipped the stock clutch in 6th gear running empty!! :{

Some stock clutches will live; others (like mine) won't with an EZ and injectors.

You will need a clutch if you run the ez on level 3 w/ injectors. Two friends of mine fried theres with only the ez. . but of course they were towing 8k+. Yours might be ok, but be careful. . just best to get the clutch upgrade now. . no sense in having extra power if you have to drive like a puss. . just my . 02 :)

I tow 13k w/Smarty and LOVE it. 9 levels to choose from. I would recommend a Smarty before I would recommend any kind of a box. You are also doing the ECM thing and not jerking the VP electronics around like you are with a box.

Just a thought
