The fittings on the transmission are both the same. At NAPA they sell the Weatherhead fitting, 68X8X4, which is a pair of compression fittings that only costs a few bucks.
There are also a couple of fittings on the bottom of the cooler tank that is under the exhaust manifold. I think the NPT end of those fittings is one size smaller than the ones in the transmission. Best to check that instead of relying on my faulty memory.
1/4 NPT sounds right for the two fittings on the transmission. The ones on the cooler are the next size smaller I think. Anyway, while you are at it you should replace all four fittings. They all will eventually leak.
