Those of you who have replaced your stock transmission pan with a larger capacity pan, like Mag-Hytec's double deep pan ... has it made much difference in keeping your transmission cool when pulling heavy loads in the mountains?

When building a bullet proof auto transmission, all of the major league players offer this as one of the first mods to consumers. Check out BD, DTT, ATS and SunCoast out of Florida.

They do add capacity which certainly does not hurt, but I got mine because of the rigidity it adds to the trans case, something you don't hear too many talk about. The stock pan is fairly flimsy and light and with a built trans and the power we all seem to have, it make sense to keep the trans case as rigid as possible.

How far do you want to go w/ this the stock trans just dont last when towing. Simple things like converters w/ lower stall, manual lockup switch, or even a valve body are helpfull. Call Dave @ gorend and chat he does not force his product on you and has a lot knowledge.

I never measured the oil temp. with the stock pan, but with my Mag Hytec double deep, the temp. never goes above 165 °F in the desert heat while pulling 10k unless stalled in traffic. Their products are of unbelievable high quality and worth every penny whether you need them or not - they look awesome :)
