Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission oil change

I recently changed to 15-40 RP engine oil and also put RP 75-140 in the rear end. I want to do a oil change in the transmission also. How do I make sure I drain all of the old oil from the ransmission before I put in the RP synthetic? Is this something I can do at home or buy the oil and take it to a transmission shop?
