Transmission Oil Temperature

I had DTT add a second transmission cooler as my truck always ran close to 200 when towing and up to over 240 when backing. DTT also found a check valve in the system which was restricting oil flow. Now my transmission really runs cool. The last time we were out, last month, the temperature approached 150 a couple of time but usually was around 140. When backing it got to 170 or so.



Is there a "too cool", or should I sit back and relax?

The new nubers sound a lot better. I'd be happy with those. The oil and seals will last longer.

Where was the check valve located?

I believe it was in the inlet to the oil cooler.

Where is the temp sensor located? That is important as one would wish to compare apples to apples.
