i installed a bd short shifter right after christmas and it has been a little hard to shift since then but now it is getting harder i think it needs new oil but i dont know what to put in it or were to get it any help would be greatly appreciated tad
 
You're gonna get all kinds of answers on this one. I have no experience changing the fluid, but the manual states that only a Mopar or Texaco oil should be used in the 6-speeds. I don't have my manual handy, or I'd quote you the part#. It is also supposedly a "lifetime" fluid, yeah, right. If you do a search on this subject, you should find PLENTY of info. I've heard that if you want to go synthetic, that Royal Purple and Red Line are good choices, as others have had success with these. Sorry I can't be of more help, but on this subject, it is kinda like which oil you use, it's personal preference and what you feel best using. I'm sure Gary and Tejas Diesel will chime in here in a little bit:) They are real knowledgable, as are others on this site, you came to the right spot. James
 
Royal Purple Synchromax in mine for 40k+ miles, no problems.



CAVEAT: Any other fluid than OEM may/will void your warranty, read the labels on the PTO covers on the sides of the transmission.
