transmission pan leak??

i have an oil leak at the back of the motor/pan and i was interested to know of a way to stop this other than pullin the motor??anyone have any ideas or fixes?? 90 5spd

Do you mean like the rear main seal?If its the rear main seal the trans and flywheel have to come back etc. Like a full seal in a late model chevy V8. Oil pan leaks are very uncommon on this engine.

FWIW, I thought I had a similar thing going on with my truck, however it turned out to be the back valve cover leaking downward.

Worth checking at least...

If its rear main trans,clutch,flywheel etc.come out. Kinda same as a V8 chevy truck. Engine stays in place. Its a full rear seal. Not like a rope seal that the pan comes off.
