Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission pan

Looking for a pan for my 47re but the guy at Summit says they don't have a listing for that one,,,, isn't it the same as a 727 or ??? Seems like I had read here about it but couldn't find the thread. Thanks guys.

Depends on what you want, if you want a deeper version of the CTD pan then he's right. I went through this a couple years ago. Before I got my mag-hytec pan I called a Summit and Jegs and was asking why they didn't list a pan for the CTD. Long story short I ordered a nice pan from Jegs which would've fit no problem but basically (within a 1/2 qt) held the same quantity of oil that the stock pan does. I ended up sending it back in favor of the mag pan for the extra capacity.

Check out the PML pans, the correct capacity to get you the extra cooling but not so much capacity as to waste fluid, especially synthetic if you go that way as it's pretty expensive. They are cast aluminum and are NOT powder coated, powder coating is one of the best insulators out there, why would you insulate a pan if reducing heat is what you want by buying a pan in the first place. Magentic drian plugs, cast in bosses for temp senders if you need it, socket head hardware and a very sharp price too.
