Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transmission parts (vendors list)

Guys, I was curious if there is a list of the major transmission companies?



I'm planning on a VB and torque convertor upgrade and I'd like to check out a few options. I know of Suncoast, DTT, Goerend, ATS, and that's about it.

do the entire trans at once, the vb and tc are just a bandage and it will eventually go. run this one til it burns then replace/rebuild it. do a search and do your homework on which ccompany gets your bus. best advice ride in a truck with each kind of trans then pick the one that you like. i am not writing any specific opinions on companies bc i already got dinged for trying to help a fellow tdr member. good luck josh

The problem I have is that all of the companies I listed above claim to be the best... and I read posts about xyz place being great, but 123 sucks... then the next guy says 123 place is the best.



It's just hard to make a good choice.



Yes I plan on going though the trans and putting new parts where they are needed. One of the guys in my 4x4 club does transmissions as a side job and he said he'd help me out.

all are going to claim to be the best, that is why i said go ride in some trucks with each of the trans in them that is the only way you are going to see which one is right for you. all of them are different beasts and intended to do the same job. josh

You Are Absolutely Dead On Bandit1. All The Companies Have A Different Approach As To How To Build A Dodge Transmission. I'm Glad To Hear Somebody Tell The Truth, That They All Do A Very Good Job Of Catering To The Diesel Enthusiast. It Is Very True, That All Companies Have Done Their Homework. I Am Actually Proud To Be Recognized With Big Power Boys As A Great Cummins Transmission Builder. Do Not Take Anything Away From Any Of Them From Just Here Say. My Hat Is Off To All Of Them, Thanks For Telling It The Way It Is.
