Having proplems with new Blumenthal transmission kicking out of 1st gear. OK when I put it into neutral after stopping. They have said I need a new assembly that the TPS fits on and have given me a bunch of part numbers.

Any suggestions if they are on the right track and is this a normal part to replace.

Thanks milt

Your '95 has a 47RH transmission instead of a 47RE like '96 and later trucks. The TPS has nothing at all to do with 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear. The TPS controls OD and TCC lockup only on that transmission.

Shift pressure is controlled by a fly weight governor in your transmission. There are adjustments that can affect the 1-2 shift but they are not involved with the TPS. Line and governor pressures need to be checked to determine what to do.
