My truck has 67,000 miles and is a 2003 2500 HO with a 48re and no power adders. The problem occurs when I am accelerating and give the truck more than 50% throttle. The rpms rise but something in the transmission seems to be slipping. It is especially bad if I try to accelerate and the transmission downshifts. It just doesn't seem to accelerate as fast as it should. The truck actually accelerates faster with less than 50% throttle than floored. No codes and mileage is great so I don't think it is a problem with the motor. Is this a torque converter problem or are some of the frictions in the transmission worn out? Thanks for the help.

hey CJ ok if you read my post I was having same problem changed the speed sensor and it did not do anything. But mine was the APPS or TPS whatever you want to go by it's the same thing I was told it was my transmission to the tune of $3,000 but spent $60. 00 changed it but you have to make sure to validate it or it will mess everything up. I might be wrong but you might want to look into that. Amazing what little parts can do to the whole truck.

Thanks Sharron. So you are saying that I need to install a new apps sensor and then calibrate it? Thanks for your help.
