Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Well, the transmission in Red seems to be having issues. It started acting funky today. It acted as though it was slipping, but almost like it was trying to downshift and missing the gear? Kind of hard to explain, most people would just say it is slipping, but it will pull fine. Seems to be worse when you give it throttle and it downshifts. Fluid smells ok and is within operating level.
I had Jeff Garmon build a transmission for Papaw, and it works great. I was told the trans in Red was rebuilt "all heavy duty" in Feb. 2010 by a shop in Asheville, NC. I was hoping to get someone local to Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol to take a look at it tomorrow before I decide to sink the $$$ in another Garmon transmission so soon.
