Hey everyone, I seem to be having what I believe is a transmission problem actually a torque converter problem but I just need to hear it from someone else. First let me tell you about the engine. It is a 94 with a #5 plate, 191 delivery valves, 370 injectors and a HX-40 turbo. The automatic transmission is stock and I knew this was only a matter of time especially with 38”tires that the transmission was bound to let loose. Anyway coming home from a show yesterday I was traveling about 50 mph and in 4th gear converter not locked up and I got on it hard and mashed the pedal to the floor and it took off and seemed like it lost a ton of power, the engine was revving high. When I went back to cruising speed and the boost fell off from what it used to be at that cruising speed (like 15 lbs. ) down to nothing and every time after that when I got on the pedal it took longer to build up the boost and the engine was higher in the rpm range then it ever was. It just seems like it has no power and it slipping but I dont know that for sure. I dont know if it is the Turbo or the transmission. Any suggestions or solutions would be great.

does it seem like the rpms are higher thru all the gears or just the upper ones? It sounds to me that you either slipped the direct clutchpack or the OD clutchpack (I would bet the OD pack) the other possibility is the TC clutch.

Check for intake air system leaks. I had three air leaks and could barely make 25psi at full throttle and **** poor power (PPP). I had a hole burnt in the side of the boost gauge plastic line and the intake manifold cover plate gasket had ruptured in two places. After finding that, I can blow the gauge off the end. Problem now is that I have to order a new 60 psi boost gauge. and it runs like a turpentined cat!!!:-laf
