Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) transmission problems?

I have a 98 with a 5spd. When i am at stop lights i notice that very often it dosnt want to go into gear, so to gert it in gear i have to put in 3rd and start to roll and then out it in 1st or 2nd. I am going to kansas hunting on saturday and am wondering if it is a big issue or nothin at all. Thanks

how does it shift when driving? does it have high miles? did you check fluid levels in the trans and clutch res?

Maybe early signs of pilot bearing seizure. Is it original clutch?

mines the same way with a new clutch. 1st, 2nd, and rev. shifts after a mile but a pain to get into gear.

it has original clutch and does shift fine on the go but when you are stopped it dosnt want to go into gear. mainly 1st and 2nd and reverse.
