When cruising between 45-50 mph and putting a little pressure on pedal, it feels like transmission slipping. Please note this is after I have locked up. ie. been cruising at 55+ mph and then coming down to 45-50 and putting pressure on pedal. It feels like the TC is actually not locking all the way. Like I'm right in between full lockup. Are there any adjustments I can do? I have read about band adjustments and such, don't know if they would do anything. Band adjustments have never been done before. I'm at 55k and almost due for transmission fluid change. You'll notice my specs on my sig.

Thanks

Sounds like your torque convertor is slipping. May need to clean the TPS or adjust the Throttle valve cable if it is still used with the 24v.

It might, but at this point would only be a band-aid.

What happens if you roll on the power smoothly when it feels like it is slipping? What happens if you hold the pedal steady? What happens if you roll into the power quickly? At what point does it feel like it is locked up solid again?

Our own ToolManTimTaylor just today or yesterday put up the service manual pages on band adjustments. Do a search on his username and you should find it easily. Adjust both bands this time then just the front band at the next service, adjusting both again at the next interval. If you don't adjust the bands often enough the front will get loose and it will slip, then it will wear out very quickly. Stay on top of it.

My transmission was shot, my clutch packs and torque convertor toast because of my DD2' and and 'EZ'. So I decided to change the AT fluid:(

I had a DTT ValveBody and everything seemed great until I changed my AT fluid. It lasted 20 minutes after the fluid change.

I was told by DTT that it would have probably lasted several thousand more miles had I not changed my AT fluid, reasoning that the new AT fluid flushed particals into the 'nooks an crannys'

of the VB and clogged things up, causing the ultimate and immediate faliure. Go figure!

I have a fellow employee whos' 1994 Dodge Auto transmission failed at 385K without ANY AT fluid changes EVER before it finally failed, and even his original engine is still going strong at over 400K with only regular oil and filter changes.

DTT told me that since the transmission is a 'closed system', sometimes it's best to apply the saying: "If it's not broke, don't fix it. "
